2008 was a GREAT year for comedies. 2009 is looking pretty good also. Here’s the first comedy I’m really looking forward to seeing this year, it’s called The Hangover and is brought to us from the creators of Old School. Plot Synopsis after the jump.
When I heard that Ryan Reynolds was going to play Deadpool in the new X-Men Origins: Woverine movie, I shouted out many a “WTF?”
Don’t get me wrong, I’m somewhat of a Ryan Reynolds fan. In fact, I think he needs to be in more, better movies. Then I heard he was playing Deadpool in the new X-Men flick and that one of the weirdest casting choices for a comic book character I’d ever heard of. (OK…Ben Affleck was Daredevil….not as weird as that).
Anyway, Robert Fure from Film School Rejects wrote a pretty cool piece on Deadpool. Figured I’d share…X-Men Origins Wolverine: Solving the Deadpool Mystery
“Comic book sex remains either a function of marriage or the province of bad guys. The female villains get to be sexualized - that’s part of how you know they’re bad, they want to fuck Batman.”
[Devin's Advocate: Sex and the Superhero by Devin Faraci of Chud.com]
I love Devin Faraci’s articles on Chud.com, especially his column Devin’s Advocate. In the future, if I stumble across an interesting article and post them here.
One of these days I’ll write some of my own as well. But, until then, enjoy!
Looks like they’re going dark for the next Harry Potter (Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince). I’ve always been a fan of the film series. The effects keep getting better and better. Need to read the books one of these days!
What if Watchmen was never made into a feature length film, but instead was brought to Saturday Mornings? I think this gives us a pretty good idea!
