Cinematical has a pretty interesting look behind the scenes of a Netflix facility.
The gallery of images below provides a behind-the-scenes look at “an unmarked warehouse” in Northborough, Massachusetts, where about 50 Netflix employees “sort through and repackage more than 60,000 discs every day.”
Since I got my email about Netflix upping the price of my Blu-Ray rentals (from $1 to $3/month) I’ve been a bit peeved. To be fair, this is a pretty large operation, and for $18 a month, the service is still VERY economical to a movie buff like myself.
Head over to Cinematical to read the full story and see the gallery.

This would get me in massive amounts of trouble at work, not to mention I would get no work done. However, this is an AWESOME idea by some Russian guys. Check out their website (it’s in Russian).
That said, if this ever becomes available, it’s going on my Christmas List!

Thinkgeek’s hilarious April Fools day ad for a Tauntaun Sleeping Bag may become a realilty due to overwhelming response for the product.
From Thinkgeek:
Due to an overwhelming tsunami of requests from YOU THE PEOPLE, we have decided to TRY and bring this to life. We have no clue if the suits at Lucasfilms will grant little ThinkGeek a license, nor do we know how much it would ultimately retail for.
Who say’s we’re in a recession when there’s a demand for a Tauntaun sleeping bag? Heck, I totally want one for myself!

**UPDATE**
Variety has confirmed LatinoReview’s rumor that Watchmen star Jackie Earle Haley has officially been cast as Freddy Krueger.
**endUPDATE**
Rumors are flying all over the “blog-o-sphere” today about the potential casting of Jackie Earle Haley as the notorious Freddy Krueger (made infamous by Robert Englund) in the upcoming Platinum Dunes remake of Nightmare On Elm Street. Of course, you all know Jackie Earle Haley as Rorschach of Watchmen. He also is well known for his role in Little Children. Mostly, though, Jackie Earle Haley was a well known child actor in the 3 Bad News Bears movies.
I haven’t really cared much for the idea of the Nightmare On Elm Street remake. The original is a classic and one of my favorite horror flicks of all time. That said, I enjoyed the Texas Chain Saw Massacre remake and even parts of the Friday the 13th remake for what they were.
That said, this gets me pretty excited for a re-imagining of Nightmare On Elm Street. This is all still in the rumor-mille, I’ll keep you posted. But this has AWESOME written all over it if the rumor is true.

**UPDATE: Blu-Ray most likely in the works! (AintItCool)
For Horror fans, we can all breath a sigh of relief. The awesome 80’s zombie flick Night of the Creeps is FINALLY set to arrive on DVD in October! After suffering through our VHS copies, crappy bootlegs and signing online petitions we can have a decent copy of Night of the Creeps in our collections.
From Chud:
Until this October. And it’s going to be a special edition! Red Shirt Pictures’ Michael Felsher was on Dead Pit radio today and said that he had just spoken to Sony and the disc was official. He said: ‘It’s going to be the director’s cut with the original ending. We’re going to go balls to the wall with the special features on it.’
When I heard about this, I busted out my white man dance and am now scouring Amazon for Pre-Sale info. I’ll keep you posted.

Brandtson was one of the first bands I totally fell in love with. I’ve bought all their albums, whenever I could I’d see them live. In fact, one time I scrapped together all my loose change just to get into a show. All of their albums are good, great dual vocal harmonies, worth checking out.
Guitarist Matt Traxler sent out a Myspace Message about the status of the band. They’ve been laying low for longer than usual (their website is no longer even up), seems like Jared Jolley (1/2 of the amazing vocal duo) isn’t interested in continuing music.

The totally awesome FEARnet On Demand channel has been dropped by cable provider Time Warner. Luckily, FEARnet is still available on AT&T U-Verse and Verizon Fios.
But, losing Time Warner is a huge blow to FEARnet, which broadcasts uncut and uncensored horror flicks and programming. associate editor FEARnet.com Joe McCabe has sent word out to blogs such as Chud and others:
You might have heard that Time Warner and Brighthouse just dropped FEARnet On Demand from their cable networks. As a fellow genre film lover, I’m sure you’ll agree that – with Monsters HD going under – we need a decent horror channel on TV. And since we’re planning to unspool a lot of cool flicks on FEARnet in the days ahead – like the unedited ‘Midnight Meat Train’, ‘Phantasm’, ‘Army of Darkness’, and ‘Hostel II’ – we want the fans to be able to see them! Could you please let your users know that if they’d like to see FEARnet On Demand back on Time Warner, they should call 1-877-FEAR-247? We’ll connect them with our cable operator and they can let them know that they want FEARnet. (Please note that for some cable subscribers, FEARnet is available on AT&T U-Verse and Verizon Fios).
If you are a horror fan and have Time Warner cable, give them a call and let your voice be heard.
