Not only does Steven Soderbergh’s new movie, The Girlfriend Experience, feature a surprisingly compelling performance from a porn adult film star (Sasha Grey), it looks like it will have it’s debut online, rather than the theater.
Soderbergh has always been a film maker that loves being unconventional. For every glossy mainstream film (Oceans 11, 12 & 13) he has given us amazing films like Traffic, Solaris, Che: Part One and Che: Part Two. Now, much like his HDNet/Theatrical debut of Bubble (with the DVD release just 4 days later), Soderbergh is releasing his anticipated The Girlfriend Experience on Amazon 3 weeks before the theatrical release.
