Near Dark is one of the coolest Vampire movies ever made. It was over-shadowed by The Lost Boys back in 1987 but is a vastly superior Vampire story. Plus it has a handful of the cast from Aliens, including a very entertaining Bill Paxton. Also, it stars Adrian Pasdar, totally unknown then but known for his role as Nathan Petrelli in Heroes.
With the recent vampire-craze of Twilight and the much more credible True Blood, Lionsgate has re-released Near Dark with artwork eerily similar to Twilight’s DVD box art.
Lame.
Here’s my advice, go to Amazon.com right now and buy the 2 disc Anchor Bay Special Edition. It’s much more tasty (and only a few $$ more, used it’s even cheaper).

Here’s the first full trailer for Neill Blomkamp’s District 9. OK, I’m fully interested now. The teaser was pretty sweet. This is pretty epic.
Plot Synopsis:
An extraterrestrial race forced to live in slum-like conditions on Earth suddenly find a kindred spirit in a government agent that is exposed to their biotechnology.

Slashfilm has done the research and concluded that Michael Bay’s Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen is the Worst-Reviewed-Highest-Grossing-Movie of all time.
So far, $600 million has been collected from masses for this mindless suck-fest. Granted, a lot of these were pre-sold tickets and the marketing for the film was pretty damn awesome.
However, once reviews came in from critics and geeks alike….things didn’t look so good. But, bad word of mouth hasn’t stopped this cash cow of a crappy movie. Thanks everyone for empowering and thus inflating Michael Bay’s ego even more.
Check out the stats that Slashfilm discovered after the jump:
Blood Trail is the first R-Rated CGI Horror flick I’ve seen in development. Based on a screenplay by writer Matt Cochran, it’s still in development and all that exists for now is this 3 minute trailer. Hopefully this is enough to wet the appetite of some investors and studios. Once someone bites it’s expected to be developed into a feature film, video game and/or graphic novel. I know I’m sold!
