First, I find out that G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra is actually good. Now, I find out that Channing Tatum is hilarious. Seriously, I’m in Bizarro World for sure.
Channing Tatum has been it shit movies up till now.
For example:
However, with Public Enemies and now G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra his career could be turning a corner. But, he’s been cast as the pretty boy badass in most movies.
Here, with the always adorable Charlyne Yi, he shows us his comedic side by re-enacting a classic scene from Dirty Dancing. Hilarity ensues.
Channing Tatum, you have arrived on my radar as an actor.
Either we’re living in Bizarro Summer, or Stephen Sommers’ G.I. Joe: Rise of Cobra is kicking Michael Bay’s Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen in the ass this summer.
Granted, Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen made an ungodly amount of money, expecially for being the ball of shit that it was. However, early reviews for Stephen Sommers’ G.I. Joe: Rise of Cobra are surprisingly good. So far after an handful reviews it is tracking 88% on Rottentomatoes.
I’ve been making fun of it until now. I think I’m going to actually plan an opening weekend screening!
I’m not sure what I think about a film version of Min-Woo Hyung’s awesome Manga (Manwha) Priest which will be directed by Scott Stewart (Legion). This first promotional image released give me a “meh” feeling, but at least they’re staying in the same color tone as the book covers.
All the info on Priest I have so far is that Paul Bettany (the scary albino monk in The Da Vinci Code, the archangel Michael in Legion) is playing Ivan Isaacs. A priest who sells his soul to the Devil in order to fight evil.
