Crazy Heart (2009)
Crazy Heart is worth watching for Jeff Bridges' performance alone. However, there is much more to love about this film. If you are a music lover, you'll dig the music also. Less of a plot driven film, and more of a character study (much like last year's The Wrestler, only not as depressing), Crazy Heart focuses on Bad Blake and the rejuvenation of his career of sorts. My only gripe is Bad Blake's relationship with a woman half his age. It's just not sold completely by Maggie Gyllenhaal. She tries, but Bridges acts circles around her.
Still, one of my favorite films of the year and one I can't wait to revisit.
